                 A Sty is an inflammation of the eyelid associated with a small collection of pus. In most cases, the infection is caused by the Staphylococcus bacteria. Stys are caused by bacterial infection in an oil gland or hair follicle on our eyelid.               A painful swollen finger or thumb can be Whitlow, Felon, or Paronychia or even by cellulitis.   A painful bump on the end of a finger is sometimes  Paronychia  which is a  commonest  bacterial infection.                           Paronychia is an infection of the fingernail, around the finger or toe. This is caused by the bacteria - Staphylococcus or a type of yeast - Candida. Depending upon the cause of infection, paronychia may come slowly and last for one to two days. This is generally due to damage to skin nearby nail at fingertip as in nail-biting, or other physical trauma.
